3. Adjust parameters of the preliminary scan.
4. Approach the probe tip to the lens optical axis.
5. Perform the preliminary scan and precise alignment of the tip.
These operations are explained below in detail.
Preparing and Mounting the Measuring Head
Operations on preparation and mounting of the measuring head are given in detail in the
manual Performing measurements, Ch. 3.
In brief, the operational sequence is the following:
1. Install the probe into the probe holder.
2. Adjust the cantilever deflection optical detection system.
3. Install the measuring head on the exchangeable mount.
Prior Adjusting the Control Program
Details on prior adjusting the Control Program depend on the experimental technique in
use:
For contact techniques – refer to Performing Measurements, part 2, section 2.1
Constant Force Mode.
For semicontact techniques – refer to Performing Measurements, part 3, section 3.1
Semicontact Mode.
In brief, the operational sequence is the following:
1. Switch the instrument to operation in the desired mode.
2. For the semicontact mode, define the operational frequency of the piezo drive.
3. Define the initial level of the detected signal (
semicontact mode).
Adjusting Parameters of Preliminary Scan
1. Switch to the
Spectra
Panel.
2. Open the
Scan(Slave)
tab.
