4. AIS OPERATION
Note 1: The equipment continues to process AIS targets when the AIS feature is de-
activated. When the AIS is activated again, symbols are immediately displayed.
Note 2: AIS symbols are momentarily erased and the screen is redrawn after the
heading is changed in the HEAD UP mode.
Note 3: The CPA and TCPA of SAR aircraft data are not available and are shown as
***.

Activate AIS Targets

When you convert a sleeping target to an activated target, that target's course and
speed are shown with a vector. You can easily judge target movement by monitoring
the vector.
4.2.1

How to activate specific targets manually

1. Press the CURSOR ON/OFF key when cursor is not shown on the screen.
2. Move the cursor onto the target to activate, then press the left button.
You can use the ACK key instead of the left button.
COG (Course Over Ground) vector

Vector shows STW (Speed Thru Water)
and CTW (Course Thru Water) when
water tracking mode is selected at the
radar.
When you set [TARGET CURSOR INFO.] to [ON] in the [OTHER SHIP'S INFO. 2/2]
menu, AIS information appears when placing the cursor onto the AIS target's symbol.
