Disassembly
Replacing the Battery

The internal battery powers the real-time clock. The primary function of
the clock it to provide a time stamp for the internal file system. If the
battery fails, the clock and time stamp function will not be available. No
other instrument functions are affected.
Under normal use at room temperature, the lithium battery has a life
expectancy between seven and ten years. Note that battery life will be
reduced if the instrument is stored for a prolonged period at
temperatures above 40 degrees C.
The part number of the battery is Panasonic CR 2032.
Step 1. Remove the top cover.
Loosen the thumbscrews to remove the top cover. The battery is located
right behind the front panel assembly.
Step 2. Lift the clip and remove the battery.
Use a small flat-blade screwdriver and carefully lift the clip. Remove the
battery.
Step 3. Install the new battery.
Insert the new battery. Make sure that the positive side (+) is facing up.
Release the clip.

Step 4. Reset the date and time.
Reassemble the unit and turn it on. Access the Utilities menu, select User
Preferences, then Clock Setup. Set the date and time.
Properly dispose of the old battery in accordance with local laws
and regulations.
