REMOVING BELLY PAN, HOOD, AND
FRONT BUMPER
NOTE: Procedures designated ''A'' are for
the
5000;
procedures designated
''B''
are
tor the 6000.
1. A. Remove the lock nut and washer secur-
ing the hood cable; then remove cable.
B. Remove the hood cable. Remove the
two machine screws, washers, and lock
nuts securing the muffler to the belly
pan.
2. Disconnect the headlight harness, remove
the lock nut securing the hood hinge to the
belly pan hinge, and slide hood free of belly
pan hinge.
3. Remove the 18 machine screws and lock
nuts securing bumper to the belly pan; then
remove bumper. Account for washers, end
caps, and hood channel.

4. Remove the three machine screws and lock
nuts and rivets securing hood hinge and
front channel to the belly pan; then remove
hinge and front channel.

5. Remove the rivets securing belly pan to the
front end.
6. Remove skis.
7. Remove the cap-lock screws and washers
securing the spindle arms to the spindles
and drive the spindles out of the bushings;
then remove belly pan.
8. A. Remove the two machine screws and
lock nuts securing the hood straps. Ac-
count for two cup washers and wash-
ers.
B. Remove the rivets sec uring the latch
cups; then remove latch cu ps .
