Inspecting
Ski
NOTE: Whenever
a part is worn excessive·
ly,
cracked, defective, or damaged in any
way, replacement is necessary.
1.
Inspect
welded
areas
for cracks or
deterioration.
2.
Inspect
threaded areas for stripping
and
damage.
3.
In
spect
spring-mount
holes for
damage
or
elon gation
.
4.
Inspect ski for
abnormal bends
or
cracks.
5.
Inspect
ski
springs
for
bends
or cracks.
6.
Inspect
shock-absorber body
and
plunger
for
ni
cks, cracks,
and
bends.
7.
Inspect
shock
absorber
by quickly com-
pressing
and
extending the
plunger while
firmly holding the
body. Resistance must
be felt
in both directions
.
8.
Inspect
shock-absorber
seal areas for
signs of fluid leakage.
9.
Inspect
saddle
mounting holes for damage
or wear.
10. Inspect
al
I bolts for wear and damage.

N0TE:
All
horizontal lock nuts are to be
positioned toward the center of
tHe
snowmobile.
1.
Insert tne front end of the wear-ear iAto the
front-mounting hole in the ski; then swing
wear-bar toward the ski. Using a wooden
block, drive the wear-bar into position mak-
ing sure the rear end of the wear-bar is
positioned in tbe rear-mounting
hole;
then
secure with a washer and lock nut
