NOTE: Recoil spring must seat evenly in
the recoil case.

Insert the rope through the hole in the
recoil reel and tie a knot in the end; then
wrap rope counterclockwise around reel
leaving about 1/2 m (20 in.) of rope free of
reel.
NOTE: Light oil may be used to lubricate
both the spring and reel hub to prevent
corrosion.
4.
Align the hook in the end of the recoil spr-
ing with the notch in the recoil reel.
5.
Carefully slide the recoil reel over hub and
engage the spring with the reel.
6.
When the recoil reel is seated correctly in
the recoi I case, place the washer on the
hub.
7.
Install the return spring and spring; then
place the three pawls into position.
8.
Slide end of recoil rope through rope guide
of the case; then tie a slipknot in the recoil
rope.
Install the three pawl springs .

10. Using a hooked wire to guide the return
spring, install the drive plate.
NOTE: Return spring pointed end must

seat in the recoil reel. Loop must be facing

nut to 2.2 kg -m (16 ft-lb).

NOTE: Increasing the rotations in step 13
will increase spring tension; decreasing
the rotations will decrease spring tension.
Installing
1.
Place recoil assembly into position against
the magneto case (magneto-case cover on
the 6000).
2.
Secure recoil with four bolts and lock
washers. Tighten bolts to 0.7 kg-m (5 ft-lb).
