2. Loosen the jam nut securing each choke-
cable adjuster. Rotate each choke-cable
adjuster to obtain 1.5 mm (1/16 in.) free play
between the choke-cable housing and
choke-cable adjuster when choke lever is in
the DOWN position . Lock each adjuster in
place by bottoming each jam nut against
the brass plunger cap.

4. Rotate each swivel adapter clockwise until
free play is felt in the throttle cable.
5. Remove the air-intake silencer boots.

aotate each throttle stop screw
counterclockwise until its spring is fully ex-
tended. Rotate each screw clockwise until
the screw contacts the piston valve; then
rotate an additional 1
1 /2
turns.

7. Rotate each swive l adapter unt il no free
play is felt in th e throttl e cab le.
8. Compress the throttl e lever and using the
fin ge rs, c heck th e synchronization of t he
piston val ves. Each piston valve must
reach the top o f th e carburetor bo re at the
same time. If one piston valve is lower than
th e other, rotat e its swi vel adapter unt il it is
sync hronized with th e oth er piston valve.
Lock both swi vel adapters by bot toming
th e jam nuts.
9.
Carefully rotate each pilot
clockwise until lightly seated .
