testing the CWDM SFP in loopback mode.

using short runs of fiber with no intermediate CWDM OADM or

Given a loss budget of 24 dBm and assuming fiber loss of .25 dB/km, up
to 96 km reach is supported with no intermediate CWDM OADM or
CWDM OMUX.
