Cause
Remedy
Engine will not deliver
rated power. (cont.)
Leak in engine intake
or exhaust.
Tighten loose connections or
replace manifold gaskets as
necessary.
Rotating assembly bear-
ing seizure.
Restriction in return
lines from actuator to
waste gate controller.
Waste gate controller is
in need of adjustment.
Oil pressure too low.
Inlet orifice to actuator
clogged.
Overhaul turbocharger.
Remove and clean lines.
Have waste gate controller
adjusted.
Tighten fittings. Replace
lines or hoses.
Increase oil pressure to
desired pressure.
Remove inlet line at ac-
tuator and clean orifice.
Critical altitude lower
than specified.
Controller not getting
enough oil pressure to
close the waste gate.
Check pump outlet pressure,
oil filters and external
lines for leaks or ob-
structions.
Chips under metering
valve in controller
holding it open.
Metering jet in actuator
plugged.
Replace controller.
Remove actuator and clean
jet.
