Configuring the Computing Infrastructure and the Management Servers

Configuring the Computing Infrastructure and the
Management Servers
Configuration involves the following tasks:
Configuring iLO on the management servers (and applying iLO Advanced licenses, if necessary)
Configuring the c7000 enclosures
Installing and configuring the management servers
Deploying the VMware vCenter Management Appliance
Building the management VM

Configuring iLO

Each management server's Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) configuration must be completed manually to assign
each server an iLO IP address. The configuration process also adds a user to the iLO environment to manage
the solution. The purpose of adding a user is to allow the default "Administrator" account and password to
remain unaltered. This solution admin user is manually created during the iLO configuration.
Note
The iLO Advanced licenses might have been installed by the HPE factory, depending on how you
purchased your OneView licensing. Perform the steps to install the iLO Advanced licenses only if they are
not already installed.

Install iLO Advanced Licenses

If the iLO Advanced licenses were not installed in the factory, locate the HPE OneView license keys from the
paper documentation for the server. Each DL360 includes an HPE OneView license.
Figure 5: Example of HPE OneView key (with iLO)
The information highlighted in yellow is the HPE part number that identifies whether this is a key for the DL
platform. In this example, E5Y43A is the part number for the "HPE OneView for ProLiant DL Server, including
3years 24x7 Support FIO Bundle Physical 1 Server" license.
The information highlighted in green is the iLO Advanced license key string that you must manually enter into
the DL360 iLOs to enable advanced features, such as the remote console and the Virtual Media components.
You must enter the key before proceeding with the iLO configuration.

Configure iLO

Before starting to configure iLO, ensure that all firmware components are at the correct levels as specified
in this document.
Procedure
1 Connect and enter the ROM-based setup utility (RBSU):
a Connect the keyboard and monitor to the first DL360 Gen9.
