Create Datastores for the Compute Cluster

5 Repeat this procedure for the other compute servers in the configuration. Be sure to use unique vFC
identifiers for each connection.
Create Datastores for the Compute Cluster
Procedure
1 Launch the vSphere Web Client by opening a web browser to <<vcenter_vm_name>>.
2 Right-click the datacenter <<vcenter_dc_name>>.
3 Select Nimble Storage Actions > Create Datastore.
4 Select the Nimble Storage group and click Next.
5 Provide a datastore name and an optional description.
6 Select the compute cluster <<vcenter_prod_cluster_1_name>>.
Note
Selecting the compute cluster also selects all of the hosts that are part of the cluster.
7 Click Next.
8 Enter the datastore size, leaving all other options at the default values.
9 Click Next.
10 Select Create New Volume Collection and provide a name for the volume collection.
11 Click Next.
12 From the Schedule Template dropdown menu, select an appropriate template or create a custom schedule
that meets your snapshot retention requirements.
13 Click Next.
14 Optional: Select IOPS or throughput limits for the datastore.
15 Click Next.
16 Review the settings and click Finish.
17 Repeat these steps as necessary to create additional datastores.
