Install the Platform Services Controller
6 Provide the appliance deployment target settings, and then click Next:
•
FQDN or IP Address: <<mgmt_server_1_fqdn>>.
•
HTTPS Port: 443.
•
User Name: root.
•
Password: <<mgmt_server_root_password>>.
7 Click Yes to accept the certificate warning.
8 Specify the VM settings and then click Next:
•
VM Name: <<vcenter_psc_vm_name>>.
•
Root Password: <<vcenter_psc_root_password>>.
•
Confirm Root Password: <<vcenter_psc_root_password>>.
9 Select the local datastore and click Next.
10 Specify the network settings and then click Next:
•
Network: Management.
•
IP Address Family: IPv4.
•
IP Assignment: static.
•
System Name: <<vcenter_psc_fqdn>>.
•
IP Address: <<vcenter_psc_mgmt_ip>>
•
Subnet Mask: <<mgmt_net_netmask>>.
•
Default Gateway: <<mgmt_net_gw>>.
•
DNS Servers: <<mgmt_net_dns1>>.
11 Review the settings to ensure that they are correct, and click Finish.
12 When deployment is complete, click Continue to proceed to stage 2 of the deployment process.
13 Click Next.
14 Configure the appliance, and then click Next:
•
Time Synchronization Mode: Synchronize time with NTP servers.
•
NTP Servers: <<mgmt_net_ntp1>>.
15 Configure SSO, and then click Next:
a Select Create a new SSO domain.
b Specify the SSO settings:
•
SSO Domain Name: <<mgmt_net_domain_name>>.
•
SSO User Name: administrator.
•
SSO Password: <<vcenter_sso_password>>.
•
Confirm Password: <<vcenter_sso_password>>.
•
Site Name: <<vcenter_sso_site_name>>.
16 Configure the Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP):
a Decide whether to participate in the CEIP.
b Click Next.
17 Get ready to complete the process:
a Review the settings.
b Click Finish.
c Click OK to accept the warning stating that you will not be able to pause or stop the install once it is
started.
18 After the appliance has been successfully set up, click Close.
