6 Click OK.
Post Installation: Configure Compute Server Networking
After the servers are deployed and the vSwitches are set up, some post-configuration tasks must be manually
completed on the vSwitches and the vKernel adapters. These tasks are not handled by the plugin.
Procedure
1 Launch the vSphere Web Client by opening a web browser to <<vcenter_vm_name>>.
2 Select the first host in the newly created cluster, and click the Configure tab.
3 In the left-side menu, select Virtual Switches from within the Networking section.
4 Select the vSwitch0 virtual switch.
The port groups for vSwitch0 are displayed.
5 Select the vmkDeployment port group and click the red X to remove the port group.
6 Select the vmkmgmt port group and click the edit pencil icon:
a Select Teaming and failover.
b Move all of the adapters to Active Adapters.
c Click OK.
7 Select the vMotion_FT_vSwitch vSwitch and click the edit pencil icon:
a In the Properties section, set the MTU to 9000.
b Click OK.
8 In the left-side menu, select VMkernel Adapters within the Networking section.
9 Select the vmkvMotion VMkernel adapter and click the edit pencil icon:
a On the NIC settings tab, set the MTU to 9000.
b On the IPv4 settings tab, click Use static IPv4 settings.
c Enter the following values:
•
IPv4 Address: <<enclosure_1_blade_vmotion_bay_1_ip>>.
•
Subnet Mask: <<compute_vmotion_net_netmask>>.
d Click OK.
10 Select the vmkFT VMkernel adapter and click the edit pencil icon:
a On the NIC settings tab, set the MTU to 9000.
b On the IPv4 settings tab, click Use static IPv4 settings.
c Enter the following values:
•
IPv4 Address: <<enclosure_1_blade_ft_bay_1_ip>>.
•
Subnet Mask: <<compute_ft_net_netmask>>.
d Click OK.
11 Click the globe icon with the green plus sign to Add Host Networking:
a Select Virtual Machine Port Group for a Standard Switch, and click Next.
b Set Select an existing standard switch to vSwitch0, and click Next.
c Set the Network label to Management and VLAN ID to <<mgmt_net_vlan>>, and click Next.
d Review the settings and click Finish.
12 Repeat this procedure for all of the other hosts in the compute cluster.
