Deploying the HPE Infrastructure Management Software
The HPE management infrastructure is used to manage the HPE Converged Architecture 700 with Nimble
Storage solution throughout its lifecycle. To deploy the management software, you must install and configure
the following components:
HPE OneView
HPE Insight Control server provisioning
HPE OneView for VMware vCenter

Deploying and Configuring HPE OneView

Before deploying and configuring OneView for the HPE Converged Architecture 700 with Nimble Storage
solution, ensure that you have downloaded the appropriate HPE OneView version and any patches that are
listed in
Validated Software and Firmware Levels
To deploy HPE OneView, you must complete the following tasks:

Deploy the HPE OneView VM

Configure basic networking settings on the HPE OneView VM
Apply patches to HPE OneView, if needed
Upload HPE Service Pack for ProLiant
Install licenses
Import the solution hardware
Create networks and template profiles
Deploy the HPE OneView VM
Procedure
1 From the Home page of the vSphere Web Client, choose vCenter > Host and Clusters.
2 Right-click <<vcenter_mgmt_cluster_name>> and choose Deploy OVF Template.
3 Browse to the location of the HPE OneView OVA file, select the file, and open it.
4 Walk through the steps to create a VM:
a Name the VM as <<oneview_vm_name>>.
b Select Thick Provision Eager Zeroed for the disk format.
c Place the VM in the Mgmt_Vol0 datastore.
d Ensure that the network connection is set to Management.
5 Power on the VM after you deploy the OVA file and open the VMware console.

Perform the Initial Configuration of the HPE OneView VM

Procedure
1 From the vSphere Web Client, right-click the <<oneview_vm_name >> VM and choose Open Console.
2 After HPE OneView completes the boot process, review the license agreement and click Agree.
3 In the HPE OneView Support dialog box, verify that Authorized Services Access has a setting of Enabled.
Click OK.
4 Log in with the user name Administrator and the password admin.
5 Set the new password to <<oneview_administrator_password>> and click OK.
6 In the Appliance Network dialog box, enter the following information:
