Creating Profiles for the HPE DL360 Gen9 Management Servers
When creating server profiles for HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 management servers, ensure that the
management server for which you are creating the profile does not have any VMs on it. At this point in the
configuration of the solution, only the first management server (<<mgmt_server_1_hostname>>) should have
VMs, but double-check to be sure. Before you apply a profile to a management server, you must migrate all
VMs in that server to another management server.
The procedures in this section focus on the second management server (<<mgmt_server_2_hostname>>),
but the same steps apply to all of the other management servers. After you apply the profile to the second
management server and the server has rejoined the VMware cluster in VMware vCenter, apply the profile to
the other management servers in the solution. Ensure that all VMs are migrated off of the servers and that
they are shut down before you try to apply the profiles.
Leave the first management server for last because you will need to vacate all VMs off of it, including the
HPE OneView VM, before you can apply the profile to this server.
Shut Down the Management Server
Procedure
1 Using a web browser, log in to the VMware vSphere Web Client.
2 From the Home tab, click Hosts and Clusters.
3 In the left pane, expand <<vcenter_dc_name>> > <<vcenter_mgmt_cluster_name>>.
4 Right-click <<mgmt_server_2_hostname>> and select Enter Maintenance Mode.
