Configure the Nimble Array

Configure the Nimble Array
When the array initialization is complete, perform the following procedure in the Subnet Configuration window.
Procedure
1 Select the traffic type of Mgmt only for the Management subnet.
2 Click Next.
3 On the Network Settings page, set the following values:
Interface: eth1.
Subnet: Management.
Data IP Address: N/A.
4 Provide the diagnostic IP addresses, and click Next:
Controller A: <<nimble_ctrl_a_diag_ip>>.
Controller B: <<nimble_ctrl_b_diag_ip>>.
5 On the Domain tab, enter the following information and then click Next:
Domain Name: <<mgmt_net_domain_name>>.
DNS Servers: <<mgmt_net_dns1>>.
6 Set the appropriate time zone and <<mgmt_net_ntp1>>, and click Next.
7 Complete the Support tab with the appropriate settings for the environment in which this array will be
deployed and click Finish.
8 When the setup is complete, a Setup Complete dialog box displays. Click Continue to automatically log
in to the array.

Update NimbleOS

If required, update the NimbleOS to the version outlined in
12. It might be necessary to repeat this section several times to update the firmware to the appropriate level
if version stepping is required.
Procedure
1 Log in to the Nimble array and select Administration > Software from the top ribbon bar.
2 Select Download to check for new versions of the NimbleOS.

3 Click Update and follow the instructions on the screen to properly update the software on your array.

Configure Nimble Storage to Communicate with VMware vCenter

The next task is to configure the array to communicate with VMware vCenter through its integration plugin.
Procedure
1 Log out and close all sessions of VMware vCenter.
2 Log in to the Nimble Storage array, and select the Administration > VMware Integration from the top
ribbon bar.
3 Enter the following information in the Register vCenter window:
vCenter Name: <<vcenter_vm_name>>.
