Attaching the Mounting Bracket to a Wall With Wooden Studs
This section contains the procedure you use to mount the MSP-CSC6 mounting bracket to the wall using
wooden studs.
Make sure that the sheet rock (drywall) on the wall is no more than 5/8 inches thick.
Caution
To attach the mounting bracket to the wall, perform the following steps:
Using a stud finder or other method, locate the studs in the wall.
Step 1
A stud finder that has a center-of-stud locator is useful for this procedure.
Tip
Mark the location of the two studs to use for the mounting bracket.
Step 2
These studs can be 16, 20, or 24 inches (40.6, 51 or 61 centimeters) apart.
(Optional) If your stud finder has a center-of-stud locator, find the center of the stud.
Step 3
Confirm the center of the stud by drilling pilot holes into the wall with the 1/8-inch or 3mm drill bit to

locate the left and right edge of the studs.
After you locate the edges, you can determine the center of the stud.
