Installing a mezzanine card

Prerequisites
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and
simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support
team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety
instructions that are shipped with your product.
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
3. Remove the sled from the enclosure.
4. Remove the expansion card riser assembly.
5. If installed, remove the mezzanine card filler bracket.
6. Unpack the mezzanine card and prepare it for installation. For instructions, see the documentation accompanying the card.
NOTE: If available, you must install the Mylar sheet to insulate the mezzanine card.
7. Keep the Phillips #1 screwdriver ready.
Steps
1. Attach and a secure the mezzanine card bracket to the mezzanine card.
2. Holding the card by its edges, position the card so that the card edge connector aligns with the connector of the bridge board
on the system board.
3. Insert the card edge connector and push the card firmly until the card is fully seated on the bridge board.
4. Secure the mezzanine card and bracket assembly to the sled using screws.
