SER MGT Port

The SER MGT RJ-45 port, located on the rear panel, provides an TIA/EIA-232 serial
Oracle/Cisco standard connection to the SP. This port is the default connection to the
Oracle ILOM system controller. For DTE-to-DTE communications, you can use the
supplied RJ-45 to DB-9 crossover adapter with a standard RJ-45 cable to achieve the
required null modem configuration.

NET MGT Port

The NET MGT RJ-45 port, located on the rear panel, provides an optional Ethernet
connection to the SP. The NET MGT port is an optional connection to the Oracle
ILOM SP. The service processor network management port uses an RJ-45 cable for a
10/100BASE-T connection. If your network does not use a DHCP server, this port
will not be available until you configure network settings through the SER MGT port.
This port does not support connections to Gigabit networks.
