To Remove the EI Ion Source

Materials needed
• Gloves, clean, lint-free
• Pliers, long-nose (8710-1094)

Pull on the connectors, not on the wires.

Vent the MSD. See "To Vent the MSD"
Open the analyzer chamber. See
page 78.
Make sure you use an antistatic wrist strap and take other antistatic
precautions before touching analyzer components.
If you are using a standard or inert EI ion source, disconnect the seven
wires from the ion source. Do not bend the wires any more than necessary
(See Figure 20 on page 130 and
