• Remove the seat. Refer to "Front Seat and Seat
Adjuster Replacement."
• Leave the adjuster on the seat.
• Loosen the adjuster to seat bolts.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Locking wire too tight.
Adjuster lock bar spring disconnected
broken.
Adjuster lock bar sticking or binding.
Locking wire too loose or disconnected.
Adjuster lock bar sticking or binding.
Right adjuster either rearward or forward
of the left adjuster.
Adjusters new, not broken in.
Adjuster(s) improperly lubricated.
Adjuster(s) binding due to bent or damaged
channels.
Adjusters not in parallel alignment with each
other.
CORRECTION
1.
Loosen the locking wire tension enough to
provide full engagement of the lock bar in the
locking slots of the adjuster lower channel.
Refer to "Seat Adjuster Adjustment."

Connect the spring or install a new spring.
3.
Lubricate the lock bar pivot. If the bar is bind­
ing, eliminate the cause of binding or replace
the adjuster.

Tighten the locking wire enough to allow the
lock bar to disengage from the locking slots in
the adjuster lower channel when the lock
control lever is activated. Refer to "Seat Ad­
juster Adjustment."
2.
Lubricate the lock bar pivot. If the bar is bind­
ing, eliminate the cause of binding or replace
the adjuster.

Loosen the adjuster to floor pan bolts or nuts
— move one adjuster forward or rearward as
far as possible and the other adjuster in the
opposite direction. Refer to "Seat Adjuster
Adjustments."
1.
Operate the seat to the full forward and full
rearward positions several times to work the
new tightness out of the channels.
2.
Lubricate the adjuster channels with Lubri-
plate or equivalent.
3.
Replace the adjuster.
4.
Loosen the floor pan attaching bolts or nuts,
align the adjusters parallel on the floor pan
and tighten nuts. Refer to "Seat Adjuster
Adjustments."
1. The adjuster rails forward or rearward so that both
rails are the same distance from the front of the seat.
2. The adjuster rails so they are parallel to each other.
• Tighten the adjuster to seat bolts.
3. Wire assembly tension. Three holes on the second­
ary adjuster rail allow for tension adjustment of the
wire assembly (figure 1).
