surface on the model deflects in the appropriate
direction!
h. Repeat Steps e. to g. until you have assigned all
the control functions which are to be transferred to
the Pupil. Now you can return to the Status dis-
play, and training operations can commence.
!
Caution when assigning the functions Throttle
or Collective Pitch, as the motor could burst
into life during the assigning process. Injury
hazard!
Ensure that nobody could be endangered by a
motor revving up or an electric motor starting to
run, and that the model is not in a position to
cause any damage. For safety reasons the
assignment pro-cess should be carried out with
the engine stopped or the electric motor disconnected.
The correct function can also be checked using
the Servo Monitor ( 17.3.), in which case the
model can be left switched off.
If you wish to erase an assignment, select the appropriate
control function and select OFF using the ( / ) but-
tons or one of the 3-D digi-adjusters.
If the transmitter is switched off in "Teach.U" or
"Teach.M" mode, the software automatically moves to
the menu Setup, Training when next switched on,
reminding you that the transmitter is still set to this
mode.

The ROYAL SX as Pupil transmitter

Important: when the ROYAL SX is operating as a
Pupil transmitter, the trims have no effect (Teacher
trims).
The following can be used as the Teacher transmitter:
ROYAL SX, ROYALevo7 / 9 / 12, Cockpit SX,
Commander mc, PROFI mc 3010 / 3030 / 4000.
Some earlier MULTIPLEX transmitters can also be
used as Teacher units. If your proposed Teacher
transmitter is not listed above, please ask our Cus-
tomer Service department for advice.
a. The Teacher and Pupil transmitters are intercon-
nected using the Trainer lead # 8 5121 plugged
into the multi-function sockets. Connect the lead
the right way round: the Pupil end of the cable is
marked "Schüler", the Teacher end "Lehrer".
b. Switch the Teacher transmitter on.
The Pupil transmitter is also switched on automa-
tically, as it is powered by the Teacher transmitter.
64
c. Move to the sub-menu Training.
d. Select:
Mode = Pupil M, if the Teacher transmitter expects
signals in the MULTIPLEX format (neutral signal =
1.6 ms):
e.g. ROYALevo7 / 9 / 12 with "Teach.M",
Commander mc, PROFI mc 3010 / 3030 / 4000.
Mode = Pupil U, if the Teacher transmitter expects
signals in the UNIVERSAL format (neutral signal =
1.5 ms):
e.g. ROYALevo7 / 9 / 12 with "Teach.U".
The following display now appears:
Note:
If you switch your ROYAL SX off after a period of
Trainer mode operations, without setting the para-
meter Training, Mode to OFF, for safety reasons the
transmitter will revert directly to the menu Setup,
Training when you next switch the system on.
Before every flight in Trainer mode it is essential
to check the following points:
 Are all the control functions which the Pupil is not
permitted to control set to OFF?
 Is the control function assignment absolutely clear?
Check that none of the Pupil's servo channels is
assigned twice!
 Are all the control functions working in the correct di-
rection (sense)? Always check this before launching
the model.
Note:
If the Trainer lead is disconnected during a flight, all
the control functions will automatically revert to the
Teacher transmitter.
