Suggested names: E-heli, E-glider if, for example,
you wish to use different assignments for your electric
models to their equivalents with I.C. motors.
Tip: we recommend that you set up the list to cover
the most complex model which you own in that par-
ticular category. For example, it presents no problem
if the Glider list includes, say, assigned transmitter
controls for flaps and retractable wheel, even if your
current model is just a simple rudder / elevator glider.

Global mixer definitions

Why "global" mixer definitions?

11.4.1.
As in the case of assignments, there are particular
mixer configurations which modellers use again and
again. For this reason we have separated the mixer
definitions from the process of setting up the indi-
vidual mixer input values for a particular model.
The definition is entered "globally" in menu L
(Setup), Mixer def. (see illustration below). Once
defined, a mixer can be used as often as you like for
any number of models.
When a mixer is defined, the following points are de-
termined:
1. A name for the mixer.
2. A maximum of five mixer inputs.
3. A switch for the mixer inputs.
4. The method of working of the mixer inputs.

Which global mixers are available?

The ROYAL SX includes fourteen free mixers. Five of
them are pre-defined, and can be used immediately.
All the mixers - including the pre-defined ones - can
be changed exactly as you wish.
Please refer to the overview ( 22.2.) "Pre-defined
mixers" for information on the default mixer definitions.
Tip: the mixer definition should cover the most
complex application for which you are likely to want to
use the mixer. If the model is a glider whose ailerons
you "only" wish to raise for landing, you can use the
AILERON+ mixer. The inputs Flap and Ele -tr can
simply be left at "OFF" when you are setting up the
mixer inputs in the menu £Mixer. However, those
inputs remain available in the definition even though
they have no effect on the present model, assuming
that they are not set up and activated for that model.

Mixer names with a "+" suffix

11.4.3.
You will see a "+" suffix attached to the names of the
pre-defined mixers. This indicates that, for example,
the AILERON+ mixer includes other inputs in addition
to the basic Aileron function. These mixer names are
also displayed in capital letters (ELEVATR+, AILERON+,
FLAP+, ...), to differentiate them more clearly from the
basic inputs (Elevator, Aileron, Flap).
11.4.4.
How are the free mixers used in fixed-
wing model aircraft?
You might care to think of the free mixer definitions as
a collection of building blocks, from which you select
the most suitable for any particular model. The "se-
lecting" is carried out when you assign the servos in
the model. Only if a mixer is assigned to at least one
servo (menu ¤Servo, Assignment) does the mixer
appear in menu G (Mixer); you can then set the values
for the individual mixer inputs.
The illustration below shows the building block collec-
tion and the fourteen mixer building blocks:

!
Important: a maximum of five free mixers can be
used simultaneously in any one model memory.
