Adjusting the remaining inputs

Start with Rudder:
In V-TAIL+ set both travel inputs for rudder to 60%.
Now check that the control surfaces move in the cor-
rect direction corresponding to Rudder commands.
If the direction of movement for right / left is incorrect,
you must reverse the prefix for both mixer inputs for
Rudder.
This is accomplished by selecting the inputs in turn,
and pressing the REV/CLR button:

12.10. Working with flight phases

12.10.1. What is the purpose of switching be-
tween different flight phases?
Using flight phases you can adjust the characteristics
of the transmitter controls to suit the requirements of
the model for each phase of a flight (e.g. reduced
travels for SPEED tasks, extended flaps for LANDING).
All settings which can be varied separately for the
flight phases are marked in the transmitter control
menus with the code number of the flight phase.
Example Flap control:
¢Flap.NORMAL
¨Exit
Time
Fixed value —
Pre-condition: if you wish to work with flight phases,
you must assign at least one switch (for the Main
phase, or Phases 1-3) in the menu ¡, ASSIGNMENT,
SWITCHES. If this is not the case, the transmitter al-
ways remains in Phase 1.
Note: only transmitter control settings can be al-
tered
Settings which are flight phase specific can only be
entered in relation to the transmitter controls. The
servo settings remain the same for all flight phases.

12.10.2. Default settings in the menu Flight phase

Press button I: this opens the main menu Memory.
Now use the 3-D digi-adjuster to select the Flight
phase menu, and open it by pressing the 3-D digi-
adjuster.
A typical Flight phase menu looks like this:
¦Flight phase
¨Exit
1 SPEED1
X ---
2 NORMAL
3 THERMAL1
4 Start1
Time
Names have already been assigned to all four pos-
sible flight phases, although they can be altered.

The three hyphens "---" following the flight phases in-
dicate that physical switches have not yet been as-
signed to operate as flight phase switches. As a result
SPEED1 has automatically been selected as Flight
Phase 1, and marked as the active phase (X).

12.10.3. Assigning flight phase switches

You cannot use different transmitter control settings in
the various flight phases until you have assigned at
least one of the two switches:
- Main menu: Setup
- Menu: Assignment
- Menu point: Switches
- Press ENTER to open the menu point.
If you wish to use all four flight phases, you will need
to assign two switches:
a. Switch: Main phase
(assign two-position switch)
Moving this switch to the ON position (marked with
* when assigned) activates flight phase 4. The po-
sition of the second switch then has no effect.
If no switch is assigned for Phases 1-3, the
Main phase switch can only be used to select
Phases 1 and 4.
b. Switch: Phases 1-3
(assign three-position switch)
This switch can be used to activate phases 1, 2 or
3, provided that the Main phase switch is at the
OFF position.

12.10.4. Locking / unlocking flight phases

It is possible to lock any flight phases which you have
not yet set up. Locked phases cannot be activated
even if a switch is assigned to them. If you neverthe-
less move the switch to the position corresponding to
a locked flight phase, an audible warning sounds
(beep every 0.5 seconds) for as long as the switch is
in the "wrong" position.
This is the procedure for locking / unlocking flight
phases:
- Open the main menu Memory (button I)
- Select the menu Flight phase
- Press ENTER to open the menu
(or press the 3-D digi-adjuster):
¦Flight phase
¨Exit

2 NORMAL

4 START1

- Select the flight phase with the 3-D digi-adjuster,
and press ENTER to open it
