Care and maintenance

The transmitter requires no special maintenance.
However, we strongly recommend that you have the
system checked by an authorised MULTIPLEX Ser-
vice Centre at regular intervals (every two or three
years), depending on the intensity of use. Regular
checks of working systems and range ( 3.2.) are, of
course, mandatory.
The best method of removing dust and dirt is to use a
soft bristle brush. Stubborn soiling, especially grease
and oil, is best tackled with a moist cloth, using a mild
household cleaner if necessary. Never use powerful
cleaning agents such as white spirit or other solvent.
Avoid subjecting the transmitter to pressure and shock
loads. The transmitter should always be stored and
transported in a suitable container (case or bag).
At regular intervals check that the transmitter case,
mechanical parts and - especially - the wiring and
contacts are in good condition.
! Switch the transmitter OFF before opening the
case, and disconnect the battery before working
on it. Avoid touching electrical components and
circuit boards.

Disposal

Electrical equipment marked with the crossed-
out refuse bin must not be discarded in the
household waste; it must be taken to a suitable
collection point for proper disposal.
In the countries of the EU (European Union) it is
illegal to dispose of electrical apparatus via the do-
mestic waste system (WEEE - Waste of Electrical and
Electronic Equipment Directive 2002/96/EG). You can
take your unwanted equipment to your local public
collection poit (e.g. recycling centre), which will dis-
pose of it in the correct manner at no cost to you.
By recycling your unwanted equipment you can make
an important contribution to the protection of the en-
vironment.
