12.11. Supplementary functions

12.11.1. D/R and Expo

D/R (Dual-Rate) is available for the transmitter con-
trols Aileron, Elevator and Rudder. The function is
used to reduce the control surface travels when nec-
essary to suit the flight situation (e.g. for speed tasks).
The Travel parameter (Trvl) in the Transmitter control
menu defines the maximum travel. If D/R is switched
on, the travel is reduced by the factor entered at this
point.
Example:
80% trvl and 60% D/R result in 48% control surface
travel (60% of 80%).
Expo is available for the transmitter controls Aileron,
Elevator, Rudder and Throttle. Negative Expo
values produce finer control around the centre posi-
tion of the stick ("softer" control of the model). Setting
positive Expo values produces "sharper" control around
the stick centre. In either case the end-travels are not
affected in any way.
The effect of Negative Expo applied to Throttle is a
smoother increase in speed at the Idle end of travel.

12.11.2. Activating Combi-Switch

"Smooth" turns can only be flown if aileron and rudder
commands are applied simultaneously; this applies to
models just as it does to full-size aeroplanes. Syn-
chronised control is not particularly easy to achieve,
especially for relative beginners. The Combi-Switch
"combi"-nes (couples) aileron and rudder, and thereby
makes it easier to fly accurate turns.
a. Open the main menu Mixer (press the Σ button).
b. Select and open the menu Combi-Sw:

Ail > Rudder — +50%
The Combi-Sw line shows which switch is assigned
to the function (N), where the ON position is
located (' = forward) and whether the function is
switched on or not (* = ON). Nothing can be
changed in this line.
c. Open the menu point

Ail > Rudder—
The rate of following can be adjusted in 2% incre-
ments up to a maximum of 200%.
Values from +2% to +200% cause the rudder to fol-
low the movement of the aileron stick. If you set a
negative following rate (-2% to -200%), the rudder
stick causes the ailerons to follow its movements.
The display changes to Ail < Rudder (< or >).
The direction of following can be altered by pressing
the REV/CLR button. It changes automatically if

DTC means Direct Throttle Control and is needed for helicopters.
Switch N is assigned to Combi-Switch, and is switched
on (*). The switch position for ON is forward (').
b. Changing the switch position for ON
Move the switch to the new, desired position for
ON. Use the 3-D digi-adjuster to select the line
CS/DTC, and open the parameter with the ENTER
button (or press the 3-D digi-adjuster). Confirm the
warning message with ENTER. The arrow now
points in the new position for the switch correspon-
ding to ON (#), and you will see an asterisk after it.
Press ENTER to close the field.

12.11.3. Motor run timer

You can record the motor run time if you assign the
switch for this timer to Throttle. You can set the
switching threshold for activating the timer ( 15.3.)
in the Transmitter control menu under TriggerPoint.
