20.3. Using a flight simulator
Many manufacturers of flight simulators offer interface
leads which can be used to connect MULTIPLEX
transmitters directly to a PC. The MULTIPLEX inter-
face leads (# 8 5148 or # 8 5156) are not designed for
use with simulators.
The free Flying Model Simulator (Multiflight) can be
used with our MULTIflight-Stick # 8 5147. It can be
downloaded at no charge from our website www.multi-
plex-rc.de.
20.4.

Error messages

Every time you switch the transmitter on, the ROYAL
pro
checks the content of its memory. If it detects an
error, the following error message appears:
Memory Error
If this should occur, please note that the transmitter
must not be used again, and no changes should be
made to settings.
The PC back-up and update program ROYAL SX
DataManager ( 20.3.) can be used to correct data
errors. This is accomplished by reading out the trans-
mitter data using the ROYAL SX DataManager, and
then transferring the data back into the transmitter
again.
If the error message recurs after this procedure, a se-
rious data error is present. The cause is often a hard-
ware defect (possibly caused by failure to observe the
transmitter battery charging instructions, or by using
an unsuitable or faulty battery charger). In this case
the transmitter must be sent to a MULTIPLEX Service
Centre for checking and repair.

Accessories

20.5.1.

Trainer lead

The ROYAL SX can be used both as Teacher trans-
mitter and as Pupil transmitter in a Trainer system.
Any MULTIPLEX transmitter with a five-pin DIN socket
(MULTIPLEX multi-function socket) can be used as a
Pupil transmitter ( 14.4.).
20.5.2. Aluminium stick top with switch or but-
ton - installation and functions
Available as an option for the ROYAL SX is a pair of
aluminium stick tops with integral push-button or
switch (two-position or three-position):

The transmitter can be expanded as follows:

a. Installing the stick tops
The aluminium stick tops are installed in a similar
manner to the standard plastic stick tops ( 9.5.):
1. Remove the old stick tops, open the transmitter
and remove the battery.
2. Thread the wires through
The wires can be pushed through the stick shafts
when the transmitter is open.

Tip:
You will find it easier to slip the wires through if you
curve the cable ends slightly and hold the stick in
one corner position.
3. Install the stick top
Set the stick top to your preferred length, then tighten
the M2 grubscrew on the side to secure it. If the
stick unit has an integral switch, the direction of
operation of the toggle must also be considered.
