Press the pinion gear into a new bearing until
it
is fully
sealed by supporting the bearing inner race.

PINION JOINT NEEDLE BEARING
REPLACEMENT
Remove the pinion ball bearing (page 19-29).
Heat the pinion gear [1] to about 80°C (ll6"F) and
remove the needle bearing [21. using the special tools.
TOOLS :
Remover head, 12 mm
Remover shaft, 12 mm
Bearing remover, 12 mm

marking facing up so that it is flush with the shaft end .

Remove the oil seals [1) from the gear case and cover.
Dnve the bearings (2) out of the case and cover.
