MIL CIRCUIT INSPECTION
NOTE:
Under normal conditions, the MIL will stay on for a
few seconds , then goes off when the ignition switch
is turned on with the engine stop switch YI".
Check that the MIL (1] comes on when the ignition
switch is turned ON and engine slop switch "0".
If the MIL does not come on al all , inspect the
combination meter (page 22-7).
If the MIL comes on for few seconds, then goes off with
the gear position indicator continuously blinking "-",
check the serial communication line (page 22-7).
If the MIL does not go off within a few seconds comes
on and
it,
check as foUows:
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the PCM/ECM 33P (Gray) connector {1].
Check for continuity between the wire harness side
PCM/ECM 33P (Gray) connector and ground.
Connection : 8 5 - Ground

If there is continuity, check for short circuit in the
Brown/red wire between the DlC and PCMIECM.
If there is no continuity, replace the PCM/ECM with
a known good one (page 4-34), and recheck.
