Ch.5 Web Maintenance Mode

5-1 Overview of Web Maintenance Mode

DRYPRO 793 incorporates the ability of Web Maintenance when it is connected to the PC through Ethernet.
Using the Web Maintenance Mode, settings on the DRYPRO 793 can be browsed and changed from the remote site.
Web Maintenance Mode can be operated from the Internet Explore using a PC that satisfies the following require-
ments.
Pentium 3 500MHz or higher (800MHz or higher is recommended)
CPU
Memory
128MB or higher (256MB or higher is recommended)
Display
XGA(1024x768 dots, 256 colors) or higher
OS
Windows 2000/XP
Browser
Internet Explorer 5.5 or later
Activate the use of Cookie
Environment where "Java Script" can be executed. (when unknown, download
"j2re_1_3_1_win_i.exe" from the HP of Sun Microsystems, and install in your PC)
Select "Proxi Server Not used" in the setup of Internet Explorer.
PC Settings for the Web Maintenance Mode
1. Make the following Internet settings on the Internet Explorer.
- Enter checks under [Tools] - [Internet Options] - [Overall] - [Setup] - [Check for each
page display].
- Set [Tools] - [Internet Options] - [Security] - [Internet] - [Standard Level].
- [Tools] - [Internet Options] - [Security] - [Intranet] - [Standard Level].
- Invoke [Tools] - [Internet Options] - [Security] - [Preview Site] - [Site] - [Add following site to
zone], enter IP address of DRYPRO 793 and click the [OK] button.
2. Install Java Script version "1.3.1_09."
In cases where version 1.4 is installed, delete and install version "1.3.1_09."
Use of version 1.4 may render it impossible to properly use the Web maintenance
mode.
Version Check
The version installed may be checked as follows: [Control Panel] - [Adding and
Deleting Programs] - "Java 2 Runtime Environment xxx" ("xxx" represents the version
number.)
Deleting Version 1.4
[Control Panel] – [Adding and Deleting Programs] - "Java 2 Runtime Environment xxx - click
the [Delete] button.
- Although multiple web browsers may be activated on one external PC for connec-
tion to multiple DRYPRO 793 units, multiple web browsers activated on one exter-
nal PC cannot be connected to the same DRYPRO 793 unit.
- A maximum of 16 web maintenance modes may be used simultaneously on the net-
work.
- Like the maintenance mode from the DRYPRO 793, printing and receipt of print
data from diagnostic devices is not possible while the Web maintenance mode is
active.
Print jobs remaining will be output after termination of the Web maintenance mode.
- Level 3 and service privilege cannot be used simultaneously on the operation panel
and in the Web maintenance mode.
