Sound field programs
This unit is equipped with a variety of precise digital decoders that allow you to enjoy multi-channel playback from
almost any stereo or multi-channel sound source. This unit is also equipped with a Yamaha digital sound field processing
(DSP) chip containing several sound field programs which you can use to enhance your playback experience.
• The Yamaha CINEMA DSP sound field programs arc compatihle with all Dolhy Digital. DTS, Dolby Surround, Dolhy TrueHD and
DTS-HD Master Audio sources.
• The Yamaha Hil,'i DSP sound field programs recreate real-world acoustic environments made from precise measurements taken in
actual concert halls, music venues, movie theaters, etc. Thus, you may notice variations in the strength of the reflections coming from
the front. hack, len and right.
• You can change sound field parameters. Sec page 67 for details.
Selecting sound field programs
Rotate the @PROGRAM selector (or set the
operation mode selector to @AMP and then
press one of the sound field selector buttons (@)
repeatedly).
The nanle of the selected sound field progranl appears in
the front panel display and in the OSD.
Notes
• When you select an input source, this unit automatically selects
the last sound field program used with the corresponding input
source.
• Sound field programs cannot he selected when the component
connected to the MULTI CH INPUT jacks is selected as the
input source (see page
43)
or when this unit is in the Pure Direct
mode (see page
52).
• When you play hack DTS 96/24 sources with any sound field
program, this unit applies the selected program without
activating the DTS 96/24 decoder.
• Sampling frequencies higher than 48 kHz arc sampled down to
48 kHz or lower and then sound field programs arc applied.
