Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below when this unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below
or if the instruction below does not help, turn off this unit, disconnect the power cable, and contact the nearest authorized
Yamaha dealer or service center.
General
This unit fails to turn
on or enters the
standby mode soon
after the power is
turned on.
No sound.
No picture.
The power cable is not connected or the
plug is not completely inserted.
The speaker impedance setting is
incorrect.
The protection circuitry has been
activated.
This unit has been exposed to a strong
external electric shock (such as lightning
or strong static electricity).
Incorrect input or output cable
connl;?ctions.
Audio input jack select is set to "HDMI".
"'COAX/OPT" or "'ANALOG".
Audio input jack select is set to
"ANALOG" while the input source
component outputs digital audio signals.
No appropriate input source has been
selected.
Speaker connections are not secure.
The volume is turned down.
The
~,ound
is muted.
Signals this unit cannot reproduce are
being input from a source component.
such as a CD-ROM.
The HDMI components connected to this
unit clo not support the HDCP copy
protection sl andards.
"SUPPORT AUDIO" is set to "OTHER"
and "HDMI" audio signals are not being
played back on this unit.
The output and input for the picture are
connected to different types of video
jacks.
This unit outputs the video signals are not
supported on the video monitor connected
to the HDMI OUT jack.
Pure Direct mode is active.
Non-:~tandard
video signals are input.
Connect the power cable firmly.
Set the speaker impedance to match your speakers.
Make sure that all speaker \\ ire connections on this
unit and on all speakers are secure and that the \vire
for each connection does not touch anything other
than its respective connection.
Turn off this unit, disconnect the power cable. plug it
back in after 30 seconds and then use it normally.
Connect the cables properly. If the problem persists.
the cables may be defective.
Set the audio input jack select to "AUTO".
Set the audio input jack select to "AUTO" or
"COAX/OPT".
Select an appropriate input source with the
©INPUT
selector on the front panel (or the input selector
buttons
(CD)
on the remote control).
Secure the connections.
Turn up the volume.
Press
@MUTE
or
@VOLUME +/-
on the remote
control to resume audio output and then adjust the
volume.
Playa source whose signals can be reproduced by this
unit.
Connect HDMI components that support the HDCP
copy protection standards.
Set "SUPPORT AUDIO" to "RX-VI800" in "SET
MENU".
Set "'VIDEO CONY." to "'ON" or connect your
source components in the same way as you connect
your video monitor to this unit.
Set the "INITIALIZE" to "VIDEO" to reset the video
parameters.
Set "MONITOR CHECK" to "YES".
Turn off the Pure Direct mode.
