11.6 Removing and installing pressure sen‐
sor for seat occupied recognition -G452-
Note
It is only permissible to renew pressure sensor for seat occu‐
♦
pied recognition -G452- and front seat padding together as a
unit.
However, the seat occupied recognition control unit -J706- can
♦
replaced separately.
The pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition -G452- is
♦
removed/installed as shown in the example of the "Comfort"
version of the front seat with manual seat adjustment.
Removal and installation of the other front seat versions are
♦
analogous.
Removing
WARNING
♦ Follow safety regulations for pyrotechnic components
⇒ page 1 .
♦ Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. separating
the electrical connector), the person handling them must
"electrically discharge" himself/herself. To do this e.g.
briefly touch the door striker plate.
– Mount seat repair stand -VAS 6136- on engine and gearbox
support -VAS 6095- .
– Remove front seat ⇒ page 244
– Fasten seat on seat repair stand -VAS 6136- .
– Remove right trim on seat
Vehicles with manually adjustable seat
– Remove left trim on seat:
♦ Left trim on seat without adjustable seat height
♦ Left trim on seat with manually adjustable seat height

– Remove front seat bar and operating lever
Vehicles with electrically adjustable seat
– Left trim on seat with electrically adjustable seat height
⇒ page 254 .
– Remove seat bar of electrically adjustable seat
All vehicles
– Remove mounting of front seat drawer if there is one

– Remove front seat backrest -1-
– Remove cover from front seat cushion (front seat padding is
