– Disconnect battery earth cable with ignition switched on ⇒
Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27 ; Battery; Connecting and dis‐
connecting battery .
– Remove front door trim
WARNING
Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. separating the
electrical connector), the person handling them must "electri‐
cally discharge" himself/herself. To do this e.g. briefly touch the
door striker plate.
– Disconnect wiring harness -3- from side airbag crash sensor
on driver side -G179- -2-.
– Press catch upwards -arrow- using a screwdriver. Remove
bracket -1- together with crash sensor -2- from assembly car‐
rier.
