6.1 "Advanced Airbag System" (only for
USA/Canada)
The "Advanced Airbag System" has an airbag unit with 2 airbag
stages which are triggered in relation to the severity of the acci‐
dent. If the accident is minor the 2nd stage is not triggered.
WARNING
♦ Airbag units of which only the first stage has been trig‐
gered can cause serious injuries if the second stage is
triggered.

A way to check whether the 2nd stage has been triggered without
doubt is not currently available. For this reason, the airbag units
mentioned should be disposed of through the correct channels in
their original packaging in accordance with local legislation gov‐
erning such materials. Contact your importer if in any doubt.
WARNING
Airbag units that have not been triggered should not be dis‐
posed of via normal commercial waste systems!
