COOLANT REPLACEMENT
CAUTION:
S Hard water or salt water is harmful to the en-
gine parts. Use boiled or distilled water if you
can't get soft water.
S Do not use water containing impurities or oil.
S Take care that no coolant splashes onto
painted surfaces. If it does, wash it away with
water immediately.
S Do not mix different types of ethylene glycol
antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors for
aluminium engines.
8. Install:
S Radiator cap
9. Fill:
S Coolant reservoir 1
(to upper level mark)
10. Install:
S Coolant reservoir cap
11. Start the engine and let it warm up for several
minutes.
12. Stop the engine and inspect the level.
Refer to "COOLANT LEVEL INSPECTION".
NOTE:
Wait a few minutes until the coolant settles before
inspecting the coolant level.
13. Install:
S Seat
S Side cowling (right)
Refer to "COWLINGS, SEAT, TAIL COVER
AND FUEL TANK".
