CAMSHAFT

REMOVAL

1. Remove:
S Timing plug 1
S Straight plug 2
2. Align:
S "T" mark
(with stationary pointer)
NOTE:
S Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise and align
the "T" mark a with the stationary pointer b
when #1 piston is at TDC on compression stroke.
S The #1 piston is in compression stroke TDC
when the cam lobes are turned away from each
other.
3. Remove:
S Timing chain guide (upper) 1
4. Loosen:
S Camshaft sprocket bolts 2
5. Loosen:
S Tensioner cap bolt 1
6. Remove:
S Timing chain tensioner 2
7. Remove:
S Camshaft sprockets 1
NOTE:
Attach a wire 2 to the timing chain to prevent it
from falling into the crankcase.
