CRANKSHAFT

REMOVAL

1. Remove:
S Cover plate 1
2. Remove:
S Upper crankcase
S Lower crankcase
S Dowel pins
NOTE:
S Loosen the bolts 1/4 turn each and remove them
after all are loosened.
S Remove the bolts starting with the highest num-
bered one.
S The embossed numbers in the crankcase desig-
nate the crankcase tightening sequence.

Lower crankcase
CAUTION:
Use a soft hammer to tap on the case half. Tap
only on reinforced portions of the case. Do not
tap on the gasket mating surface. Work slowly
and carefully. Make sure that the case halves
separate evenly.
