Removing engine coolant

return pipe
– Remove front fairing panel.
– Remove left running board.
– Remove top and left tunnel panels.
– Remove left side trim panel.
– Remove knee pad.

– Drain coolant from return lines.

Remove fastener (arrows) from front frame.
•
Open hose clamps (1) with pliers,
BMW No. 17 5 500.
•
Remove fasteners (arrows) from frame.
•
Open hose clamps (1) with pliers,
BMW No. 17 5 500.
•
Disconnect coolant hoses from coolant pipe.
•
Pull coolant pipe forward to remove.

Installing coolant pipes

Caution:
Always make sure that hose clamps are correctly
positioned, in order to ensure easy access when-
ever necessary.
Make sure the hoses do not chaff.
•
Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure.
•
Fill system with coolant.
•
After running the engine check the coolant level
and top up if necessary.
