Replacing Fuel Filter - BMW C1 Repair Manual

•
Remove the fastenings (arrows) for the holder.
•
Push the fuel tank down.
•
Raise the vehicle with the lifter far enough to al-
low the fuel tank to be lifted out to one side.
When installing:
•
Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure: pay particular attention to the following.
e
Caution:
Make sure that the fuel-tank rests (foam rubber
pads) are correctly positioned.
Make sure there is clearance from the right-hand
tunnel panel.
X
Tightening torques:
Fuel tank holder to frame................................ 9 Nm
Holder for washing-fluid reservoir/ABS control unit
to frame.......................................................... 9 Nm

Replacing fuel filter

– Open the seat.
– Remove left service cover.

Warning:
Comply with safety precautions when handling or
working with fuel.

Release the fastener (arrow).
13 3 010
•
Use hose clamps, BMW No. 13 3 010, to close
off fuel hoses (arrows).
•
Open hose clamp (1) with pliers,
BMW No. 17 5 500.
When installing:
•
Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure: pay particular attention to the following.
e
Caution:
Note correct direction of flow through fuel filter (indi-
cated by white arrow).
Make sure the hose clamps are correctly posi-
tioned.
Make sure the hoses do not chaff.

Tightening torques:
Fastener for fuel filter...................................... 5 Nm
