Slacken fasteners (3-5) securing leading-link
shaft.
•
Remove fasteners (1, 7) securing leading-link
shaft.
•
Remove retaining ring (11).

Pull out bearing (2) with link shaft (10), left, using
M 10 threaded rod (A), BMW No. 31 5 701, M 10
nut (B) with puller, BMW No. 31 5 702, spacer
(C), BMW No. 31 5 696, and puller (D),
BMW No. 31 5 703

Pull out bearing (6) with link shaft (8), right, using
M 10 threaded rod (D), BMW No. 31 5 701, M 10
nut (C) with rest, BMW No. 31 5 702, puller (B),
BMW No. 31 5 696, and puller (A),
BMW No. 31 5 704
•
Pull the leading link forward to remove.

leading link
– Remove leading link.
•
Pull angular-contact ball bearings (2, 6) off lead-
ing-link shafts (10, 8).
