Remove fasteners (arrows) from toggle-ever
mechanism on right.
Lift toggle-lever mechanism and remove.
When installing:
Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure: pay particular attention to the following.

Caution:
Install the eyebolts (bottom anchors for springs) in
such a way that the eyes are parallel with the vehi-
cle's longitudinal axis.
Make sure that the Bowden cables for extending/re-
tracting stand, seat-belt central release and throttle
actuation are correctly routed.
Make sure that Bowden cables are correctly seated
on the cam discs for the stand.
Make sure the cables do not chaff.
Setting:
Take up all play at the Bowden cables so that the
stand is held in its limit positions by the springs.

Tightening torques:
Fastener for spring strut ............................... 41 Nm
Fastener for eyebolt........................................ 8 Nm
Fastener for toggle-lever mechanism ........... 21 Nm
Locknuts for Bowden cables .......................... 8 Nm

Replacing Bowden cables for stand

Remove instrument panel.
Remove top and left tunnel panels.
Remove knee pad.
Remove running board centre section.

Position lifter (arrow), BMW No. 00 1 570, in
such a way that stand can be retracted.
Raise the BMW C1 on lifter (arrow),
BMW No. 00 1 570, until front wheel is clear of
the ground, making sure that the BMW C1 is se-
cure.
Lower front wheel (parking mechanism - begin
by moving large lever (5) up and then moving it
down).
