Section 7 • Repair Procedures
PLATFORM COMPONENTS
2 Tag and disconnect the hydraulic hoses from
the "V1" and "V2" ports on the counterbalance
valve manifold located on the platform rotator
and connect them together using a connector.
Cap the fittings on the manifold.
Bodily injury hazard. Spraying
hydraulic oil can penetrate and
burn skin. Loosen hydraulic
connections very slowly to allow
the oil pressure to dissipate
gradually. Do not allow oil to squirt
or spray.
3 Support the platform mounting weldment with a
lifting device, but do not apply any lifting
pressure.
4 Remove the six mounting bolts from the
platform mounting weldment, then remove the
center bolt and slide the platform mounting
weldment off of the platform rotator.
Crushing hazard. The platform
mounting weldment may become
unbalanced and fall if it is not
properly supported.

5 Support the platform rotator with a lifting device.
Do not apply any lifting pressure.
Z-45/25J Models:
6 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from the jib
boom and jib boom leveling arms to platform
rotator pivot pins. Do not remove the pins.
7 Support the jib boom and jib boom leveling
arms with a overhead crane.
8 Use a soft metal drift to drive both pins out, then
remove the platform rotator from the machine.
Z-45/25 Models:
6 Support the rod end of the platform leveling
slave cylinder.
7 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from the
slave cylinder rod-end pivot pin and the rotator
pivot pin.
8 Use a soft metal drift to drive both pins out, then
remove the platform rotator from the machine.
