OPEN ATIONS AND THING
The DC controller PCB measures the
toner level signal (TNMONI) which arrives
continuously at specific intervals, and takes
multiple samplings for comparison against
the toner level value stored in advance. If
the results of comparison show that 90% or
more samplings are under the toner level
value, it will immediately flashes the ADD
TONER indicator on the control panel and,
at the same time, it will stop copying opera-
tion upon delivery of the copy; in the case of
continuous copying, it stops operation after
making five copies after the absence of
toner has been detected.
The ADD TONER
indicator turns off
when you turn off and then on the power
switch after the indicator has come
on,
enabling copying operation. However, the
indicator will flash once again after a single
copying operation. You can make as many
as 100 copies while the ADD TONER indica-
tor is flashing by turning off and then on the
power; when 100 copies have been made,
the operation will stop and remain disabled
until toner is added.
