7.2.2. TO PUT THE HEADSET IN OPERATING POSITION
• Push the cup supporting arms inwards until the earmuffs
locks into position. (Fig. 5:G)
7.2.3. TO PUT THE HEADSET IN VENTILATION POSITION
• Pull the ear cups up and outwards until the earmuffs lock
into position. (Fig. 5:H)
7.2.4. TO PUT THE HEADSET IN STAND-BY POSITION
1. Put the headset in ventilation mode.
2. Turn the earmuffs rearward along the side of the hard hat.
(Fig. 5:J)
NOTE: Make sure that the ear cups are not placed against
the hard hat when put in standby position.
7.2.5. TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE EAR CUPS
• Hold the cup supporting arms and push the ear cups up or
down. (Fig. 5:L)
7.3. NECKBAND
7.3.1. TO PUT THE HEADSET IN OPERATING POSITION
1. Put the neckband around your neck.
2. Put the earmuffs in position over your ears. (Fig. 5:M)
3. Put the head strap on top of your head.
4. Put the head straps over each other to lock the position of
the ear cups. (Fig. 5:N)
NOTE: Make sure that the head straps are in position across
the top of your head. (Fig. 5:U)
7.4. MICROPHONE
To maximize the performance of the speech microphone in
noisy areas, position the microphone very close to your
mouth (less than 3 mm / 1/8 inch).
7.4.1. TO INSTALL THE PROTECTIVE TAPE
1. Cut 10 cm / 4 in. of the protective tape. (Fig. 5:P) Refer to
ACCESSORIES.
2. Remove the release liner.
3. Wrap the protective cover around the microphone.
(Fig. 5:Q)
4. Apply pressure to the protective tape. (Fig. 5:R)
7.4.2. TO ADJUST THE MICROPHONE
1. Fold the microphone towards the corner of your mouth.
2. Release the adjustable screw. (Fig. 5:S)
3. Set the distance of the microphone (less than 3 mm /
1/8 inch). (Fig. 5:T)
4. Tighten the adjustable screw.

8. INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATION

8.1. OPERATING TEMPERATURE
• Headband: -20°C/-4°F to 50°C/122°F.
• Hard hat: -20°C/-4°F to 50°C/122°F.
• Neckband: -20°C/-4°F to 50°C/122°F.
8.2. TO CONNECT THE PRODUCT
1. Push the lock button on the cable and connect the cable to
the headset. (Fig. 6:A)
NOTE: Make sure that you use the correct cable to your
headset. Refer to instructions on the packaging of the
cable.
2. Turn down the volume on the radio.
3. Connect the cable with the radio or PTT adapter.
4. Do a function test before entering a noisy environment.
8.3. TO USE THE PUSH-TO-TALK (PTT) FUNCTION
The PTT function is used for two-way radio communication.
Use the built in PTT button, a PTT adapter or the PTT button
on your radio.
1. Push the PTT button when speaking into the microphone.
(Fig. 6:B)
2. Release the PTT button when the message is complete.
NOTE: Make sure that the PTT button is not pushed when
you are not speaking into the microphone.

10. STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

10.1. STORAGE
• Store the product in a clean and dry area before and after
use.
• Always store the product in the original packaging and
away from any sources of direct heat or sunlight, dust
and damaging chemicals.
• Storage temperature range: –20°C (–4°F) to 40°C
(104°F).
• Relative humidity: <90%.
• Headband and Neckband versions:
Make sure that no force is applied to the headband or
neckband and that the cushions are not compressed.
