4.11.3 Replacement and Adjustment
1. Fusing Unit Removal
1. Open the front cover.
2. Push the fusing unit release lever to the
right.
3. Pull out the fusing unit until it is fully
extended.
4. Push the fusing unit release lever to the
right, move the fusing unit to the left to
disengage the stopper pin, and remove the
unit from the copier.
2. Hot Roller Replacement
1. Remove the fusing unit cover (2 screws).
2. Rotate the front lamp terminal and remove
the fusing lamp.
NOTE: Do not touch the actual lamp with
your hands because finger oil
marks may damage the lamp.
3. Swing down the fusing exit assembly and
unhook the pressure springs.
4. Remove the harness support bracket (2
screws and 2 hooks).
5. Remove the thermofuse bracket (1 screw).
6. Remove the rear lamp terminal (1 screw).
7. Remove the hot roller gear, bearings and
collars from both ends of the hot roller (1 C-ring each).
8. Slide the hot roller slightly to the rear and remove the hot roller as shown.
9. Tear the protective paper from the ends of a new hot roller and install it.
10. After the new hot roller is installed, remove the protective paper.
