7.4 REGULAR PM PROCEDURE

Make a copy
Optics (every 40K)
Around the drum
(every 40K)
Cleaning unit
(every 40K)
Make 11 copies of your test chart (OS-A3) at manual
image density level 2, and use the 11th copy.
1. Clean the mirrors, lens and reflectors with a silicone
cloth, cotton pad with water, or a blower brush.
2. Clean the exposure glass with alcohol or water.
3. Clean the guide rod with a dry cloth.
4. Lubricate the scanner guide rail and scanner guide rod
using Launa oil and run it without the exposure glass.
5. Inspect the guide rod felt and slide roller.
6. Replace the platen cover sheet.
NOTE: After removing the drum, wrap the drum in clean
sheets of paper to protect it.
1. Clean the end blocks, casing and transfer guide plate
with a damp cloth and wipe them with a dry cloth.
2. Clean the QL and PTL filters with a dry cloth.
3. Clean the erase lamp and toner shield glass with a dry
cloth.
4. Clean the registration rollers and transport belt with
alcohol.
5. Replace the wire cleaner.
1. Clean the end blocks and casing with a dry cloth.
2. Remove the toner inside the cleaning unit and replace
the cleaning brush.
3. Replace the cleaning blade and dust its edge and the
drum with setting powder.
4. Replace the PCC wire.
5. Inspect the pick-off pawls and the components of the
side-to-side and touch-and-release mechanisms.
6. Clean the cleaning seals.
