4. ID Sensor Vsg Adjustment
CAUTION:
If Vsg is not adjusted, it causes toner density control to malfunction.
Vsg must be adjusted in the following cases:
1. Main PCB replacement
2. ID sensor replacement
3. Drum replacement
4. Toner density control malfunction
(Toner density high or low)
Adjustment standard = 4 ± 0.2 volts
1. Clean the ID sensor with a blower brush
or a smooth dry cloth.
NOTE: We recommend that the
following items be cleaned at
the same time:
Development unit, cleaning
unit, drum and the area around
the drum.
2. Set SP mode (54) to "11".
(ID sensor LED on)
3. Leave SP mode.
4. Turn on DIP SW101-1 (free run mode) on the main board.
5. Place five sheets of A3 paper on top of each other on the exposure glass and
lower the platen cover.
6. Hook up the positive lead of a multimeter to TP103 (ID sensor output check) on
the main board and the negative lead to TP101 (GND).
7. Press the Start key and adjust VR101 on the main board so that Vsg displayed
on the multimeter falls within the adjustment standard.
8. Press the C/S key to stop the copier.
9. Reset SP mode (54) to "10" (ID sensor LED off) and turn off DIP SW101-1 (free
run mode).

Vsg can be also adjusted with VR101 on the main board by monitoring the
LCD display after setting SP mode (88) to "11". In this case, use the drum
conditioning mode instead of the free run mode. Read Vsg 10 times and take
the average.
