4.5.1 Mechanical Parts
1. Overview

During the copy cycle, an image of the original is reflected onto the drum surface via
the optics assembly as follows.
Light path:
Exposure Lamp → Original → First Mirror → Second Mirror → Third Mirror → Lens
→ Fourth Mirror → Toner Shield Glass → Drum
(When the exposure lamp is positioned close to the far left, it is at the home position.)
This model has ten standard reproduction ratios: six reductions, three enlargements,
and full size. In addition, it has a zoom function.
The user can change the reproduction ratio in one percent steps from 50% to 200%.
This machine has an automatic image control system in which the copier computes
the correct image density and adjusts the development bias as a result of measuring
the original background density using the ADS sensor.
