Low Level Test Points (steps 18-26)
18. Connect the Leveling Head to the RF INPUT of the Measuring Receiver and
connect the REF FREQUENCY OUTPUT (rear panel) from the UUT to the
Spectrum Analyzer Ext Ref In (on rear). See Figure 3-12 for equipment
connections.

Figure 3-12. Equipment Connections- 75 Ω Leveling Head, Low Level Accuracy Test Points (96040A
Low-level measurements are made with a Measuring Receiver,
relative to levels previously measured with the Power Sensor. Two
levels (-33 dBm and -43 dBm) are used as reference points to
provide the required UUT hardware configurations for the
subsequent tests. It is important that the correct sequence is
followed as described.
Making these precision low-level measurements requires
appropriate choice of Measuring Receiver settings to provide
adequate linearity, noise floor, and reading repeatability throughout
the amplitude range required. For any given frequency the
Measuring Receiver the settings must be maintained for all
amplitudes at that frequency after establishing the reference point. In
particular, receiver attenuator, reference level, and resolution
bandwidth settings must not change.
